"Steve, I'm still reeling at the speed with which your methods helped me find the perfect job, pay raise and free ride through graduate school..."

Dear Steve and Jack:

When I first came to you, I was a lost and frustrated 20-something-year-old. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I "grew up." All he knew for sure was that I certainly did not want to do what I was doing.

I thought I was a hopeless case, and too young to really benefit from your help. But Steve, you with much patience and compassion helped me develop a career identity. You gave me tools to evaluate my options and the discipline to focus on the things that really make a difference. You help me decipher a clear pattern in the jumbled and directionless mess I had made of my life after college. All at once, I knew passionately what I wanted to do. And within weeks, with your and Jack's direction, I was doing it!

I'm still reeling at the speed with which your methods help me find the perfect job, pay raise, and free ride through graduate school. Applying the same principles my personal life, I also found a fantastic new boyfriend. I can say without exaggeration that you help me turn my whole life around. Needless to say, I sing your praises at every opportunity. I can't think of anyone who would benefit profoundly from your help.

Thank you so much,
Sarah Matthews

"Steve, Our meeting was crucial to me focusing my efforts and clarifying my vague understanding of my own strengths and interests. Soon after, I had four interviews in two weeks...."

Dear Jack and Steve:

Our meeting was crucial to me focusing my efforts and clarifying my vague understanding of my own strengths and interests. Soon after, I had four interviews in two weeks. Although they did not all result in offers, I had taken control of the process and knew what I was attempting to do.

Your observations and advice provided me the direction I needed to use my time and resources to the best advantage. Thank you for setting me straight and for giving me the insight necessary to get the job done.

Sincerely,
Jim Redlich

"Steve, I took you up on your offer to assist. It was the best decision I could have made and wish I had done it sooner. I can’t recommend you enough. You have certainly given me my money’s worth...."

Dear Jack and Steve:

It is with a lot of joy, excitement and a bit of apprehension that I want to share with you that I have accepted a position with Sunbelt Business Brokers. As a business broker, I will the facilitating the sale of businesses in the $1-5,000,000 range, and will be handling all the company’s real estate transactions.

For over a year I had been looking for a job the traditional way. I was getting nibbles and bites the longer I tried. But the longer I was looking, the more my attitude and self-esteem slipped, and unknowingly (or not) I began living down to my expectations. When I bit the bullet and told myself I couldn’t do it on my own and would seek help, I took Jack up on his offer to assist. It was the best decision I could have made and wish I had done it sooner. I can’t recommend you enough. You have certainly given me my money’s worth.

Sincerely,
Donn P. Raabe

"Steve, Thanks to your support and encouragement, graduation day is finally here!. Thank you for helping me get unstuck, for improving my career and for enhancing my life...."

Dear Steve and Jack,

I know there's probably more than one of us here who had doubts that this day would ever happen. Thanks to your support and encouragement, graduation day is finally here!

Our journey started with rebuilding my confidence by identifying my strengths, skill sets and success factors. We discussed a variety of options and concluded it would be best to make a transition using my background in financial services. Then came writing a resume that led to interviews with fifteen different companies.

You encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and start facilitating a group and you have provided a lot of good ideas that will help me to grow my business. I appreciate all of the coaching and mentoring you've given and am looking forward to working hard and doing well in my new job. I have accepted a position as a financial advisor with AIG Valic.

Thank you for helping me get unstuck, for improving my career and for enhancing my life.

"Steve, Then, I was offered a job to do a special project—it was exactly what I wanted to do!... I was satisfied and accepted the role as a global CRM marketing leader. I will start in March and will be heading to London to kick it off..."

Dear Steve and Jack,

Last August, I realized that something had to change. I wish I could say things were too comfortable. But that's not the case. I'd like to be able to say things were peachy and I just wanted to explore a little. But that would be lying. Then, I learned that the job I was supposed to move into after this 12-month project was not going to be funded. I was furious and exhausted and felt like I had no options and no leverage. I was close to quitting my job, with no notion of what I would do next.

While I didn't quit that job, I did quit the victim mentality. I decided that I needed to take decisive action to regain my sense of self. A mentor of mine had used a career coach and he referred me to you. You questioned me and cajoled me (a little). To some of these inquiries I gave long, rambling answers (even though I had been thinking about the questions over and over myself in preceding weeks). Soon, I was diagnosed with careerus paralaxis. We all knew what I needed to do.

You encouraged me to look inside myself and balance my dreams and illusions with the here and now. You helped me to quantify my skills and to organize them in ways that not only allow me to grasp them better myself, but effectively communicate them to others.

In October, I proposed a marketing technology role to the chief marketing officer of my company, but his feedback wasn’t promising, “Maybe it's time to look outside of Mercer.”

I found another exciting opportunity, but they want me to travel all the time. No can do. A few others didn’t work out. Then, I was offered a job to do a special project—it was exactly what I wanted to do! It will be a 6-month project, but could easily become a full-time role if it goes well. After speaking to my prospective boss, I was satisfied and accepted the role as a global CRM marketing leader. I will start in March and will be heading to London to kick it off.

I want to thank you for your patience, encouragement and guidance. I could not have done it without you.

Yours truly and gratefully,
Jonathan Fiur

"Steve, When I came to meet you... Ifelt I was on a dead-end path. Spending money to find a job seemed like another dead end and a waste of money. But I soon learned I was not simply finding another job; I was learning about myself and working towards THE job or THE opportunity...."

Dear Jack and Steve,

Graduation is finally here! Boy, did I have my doubts, but as you suspected all along I would find something while assembling my business plan. I cannot believe it happened like you said. Though, now the thought of "your parents are always right" or Jack and Steve are always right comes to mind when thinking of my campaign. In the end, I feel simply trusting both of you is when I finally started seeing results.

When I came to meet you, it was quite reluctantly. I was worn down at my job and felt I was on a dead-end path. Spending money to find a job seemed like another dead end and a waste of money. But I soon learned I was not simply finding another job; I was learning about myself and working towards THE job or THE opportunity.

In my new job, my title is Senior Account Manager. I will be selling facility management software solutions to hospitals, higher education institutions, and commercial buildings. I am nervous, but excited about learning sales/selling as this will help round my skills, should I ever decide to go into business myself.

Thank you Jack and Steve - I am sure to be in touch as my career progresses.

Ciao,
Mike Mostardi

"I thank Steve for the inspiration, coaching and superb editing he provided to guide me to the next chapter in my career as Vice President, Global Accounts Development for Celsis International...."

Dear Steve and Jack:

I want to thank you for the support, encouragement and direction you gave me during my career search.

This process has helped me not only redefine myself, but find myself again. Your process helped me redefine my goals and career objectives and gave me the confidence to continue moving forward when I really wanted to sit down.

My twenty-some years in sales prepared me for the biggest sale of my life – marketing and selling me. Without the clear product definition of “Me”, you helped define, it would have been difficult to “get the order” this quickly.

I thank Steve for the inspiration, coaching and superb editing he provided to guide me to the next chapter in my career as Vice President, Global Accounts Development for Celsis International.

Sincerely,
James S. Liddle
